Airtel Money
Airtel Money is the mobile payment service from Airtel, the number one operator in Gabon. It is the most widely used Mobile Money payment method in the CEMAC zone.
Activation
- Go to Dashboard → Settings → Payment methods
- Click Airtel Money → Activate
- The method is active immediately — no additional integration required
Payment process (buyer)
- 1. The buyer enters their Airtel Money number on the payment page
- 2. A USSD push is sent to their phone
- 3. The buyer confirms the payment with their PIN code
- 4. Confirmation arrives within 30–60 seconds
- 5. The merchant is notified via webhook
Transaction limits

Timeout handling
If the buyer does not confirm the payment within 120 seconds, the transaction moves to the timed_out status. The Payment Intent remains in the requires_payment_method status and the buyer can retry.

Note
In Sandbox, USSD pushes are not actually sent. Confirmation is simulated automatically based on the test number used.
